Ponte Hash Up

Clifton Suspense Hash Up

Truss's

Image taken from 'Bridges and Their Builders'
This image is one of the first inspirations for this work. The shapes which these drawings form are really interesting to me. I see them as more than technical drawings but as a symbol of the bridge. These shapes have helped create the fold used for the books.

Book Format

After really considering what i'm going to put into the parchment books I have decided on a map style fold which will open up into a poster. This is something which i'm confident will work well and also references bridges in their engineering, the Shapes and angles. Photos soon...

Remarkable Resemblance

M65 Motorway, Blackburn
Niagara Falls, Canada

Abstracted bridges

So, the bridge as a piece of extreme engineering has a simple aim...to get a desired thing from A to B. I think this bridge can be interpreted as taking a desired thing to a range of different points. A to F, or A to B, or D to Z. Sometimes not all routes are that straight forward.

M65 Bridge

Drawn with black pen onto card. Magazines used are "Ribble Valley Live" and A Blackburn Rovers football flyer.

Steady Progression

I'm feeling a little more confident now i have tried my first collage. It's turned out interestingly. It still resembles my style used in previous book like ventures which i'm liking but its grown and developed into something more serious and 'finished'.
I'll upload the image and you can decide what you think for yourself.
Thanks!
